7K a year Lion Country Safari is looking for a Full Time Groundskeeper who has a positive attitude, excellent work ethic, works well in a team, and takes pride in their work! The primary job functions of this position will include:
installation and maintenance of seasonal flowerbeds, general landscaping maintenance, performing manual labor, and related duties; installs sod, trees and various other plants; operates a variety of commercial mowers and small engine hand tools; works in inclement weather.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Clean and remove trash Maintenance and trimming of trees and ornamental plants Mowing of all grounds Maintain a polite, friendly demeanor with all guest and staff Familiarity with emergency and safety procedures Must possess a good work ethic and make every effort to be at work, on time, and be a team player Develop proficiency and adhere to all LCS standard operating procedures and policies at all times Other duties as assigned by management or leads POSTION REQUIREMENTS Must have valid Florida driver's license Must have knowledge of basic landscaping equipment Minimum 1-year experience Heavy equipment experience preferred Irrigation experience preferred Ability to work independently without constant supervision Maintain a professional appearance and interact positively with all guests Able to bend, flex, stand, and walk for extended periods of time Lift at least 80 lbs Must be able to work outside in all types of weather conditions, including heat and rain All applicants must work weekends and holidays Reliable transportation BENEFITS Insurance coverage (medical, dental, and life) 401(k) Paid time off Performance based increase and review after first 90 days EMPLOYEE PERKS 40% off food and beverage 30% off all retail shops Free tickets to Lion Country Safari Free tickets to attractions through Florida and discounts for family members Free uniforms MISSION STATEMENT Be a leader in animal care, conservation and education to inspire people through connections with wildlife in a fun, family-friendly environment.
