Job Description
Responsible for monitoring the assigned central telemetry of the adult age patient and documents sample strips indicating unusual rhythm as well as arrhythmias; reports changes in telemetry screens for immediate follow-up action; reports equipment problems for corrective action. This position requires knowledge of medical terminology and familiarity with medical technology as it relates to nursing. The ability to retrieve data from the hospital's information system is required along with the ability to communicate information in a written and auditory fashion. The ability to interact with the public and medical staff is also required. This position requires documented additional training in Cardiac Rhythm interpretations and the ability to recognize and report abnormal Cardiac Rhythm.

  • High school graduate or equivalent.

  • Successful completion of didactic and clinical base EKG examinations or State of Florida Licensed Paramedic.

  • Maintains and respects patient confidentiality.

  • Good communication skills and ability to use proper channels of communication.

  • Score of 90% of better or better on Rhythm Test.

Physical Requirements

  • The employee must possess physical capacities at least in an amount equal to the physical demands made by the job.

  • Lifting 50 pounds maximum with frequent lift and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 25 pounds.

  • Lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling of objects and instruments in the performance of this job.

  • Stooping, kneeling, crouching and crawling in the performance of this job.

  • Reaching, handling, fingering and feeling of objects and instruments in the performance of this job.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
